The Most Basic of Basic Grocery Lists

Shopping the Po’Girl Way..

Weekly Groceries

Fresh Fruit: grapes, oranges, strawberries, apples, blueberries – 2 at a time or they’ll go bad

Fruits When Splurging : dragon fruit, kiwis, pineapples (mix those for a tasty fruit salad)

Fresh Veggie Must Haves: onion, tomato, bell pepper (I buy 2 – 3 of each to last me a week) Onion and Bell Peppers are life savers!

As Needed Groceries – Stock Monthly

Plant Milk of Choice (Mine is Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk)

BEANS! – Black, Pinto, Northern – Refried Black and Pinto

Lettuce (usually shredded) – A head of your a salad person

Potatoes: 5 lb Bag (Investment)

RICE: 5 lb Bag (Trust me)

Flour, Flax Seed, Spelt (shoot for all 3 if you can)

Tortilla Shells (Taco and Burrito Size)

Seasonings of choice (I will not be the one to say give up flavor)

Canned or Frozen Veggies (Whole Kernel Corn is nice to have on hand)

Tomato Sauce

Bread: I still eat my favorite honey wheat brand

I strongly suggest meal planning. That way when you go to the store you know you’re shopping for 4 meals (3 Left Over Meals 🤷🏾‍♀️)
